Though we are sad for Angie and disappointed in the result, we have nothing but respect and gratitude for Angie, for her defender, Georges Laraque, and for the remaining Canada Reads panelists. Canada Reads has been an exciting, enlightening, and eye-opening event for us at NeWest. It was a rush to be part of such an event, and we owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to everyone at the CBC and all their support, and for all the readers across Canada that have shown their love for Angie's book in the many weeks since its Top 5 nomination back in November. All five Canada Reads titles are incredible books, ones each and every Canadian would do well to pick up and sink into. In the meantime, pour out a gallon of sweat for Sadie and Digger–may their impact on readers be far from over.
