Diane Cameron wins NeWest non-fiction award PDF Print

NeWest Press is pleased to congratulate its publishing intern, Diane Cameron, for receiving the NeWest 400-level Non-Fiction Writing Prize at the U of A Department of English and Film Studies' annual Salter Tea. Currently enrolled in fourth-year undergraduate English studies, Diane is bringing home the award for the second year in a row. Her internship with NeWest will see her working closely with the team to assist with marketing and promotion initiatives, bibliographic data development, and answering enquiries.

NeWest Press acknowledges the financial support of the Government of Canada's Book Publishing Industry Development Program (BPIDP) for Diane's position and looks forward to providing a challenging and rewarding internship.

Congratulations to Rudy Wiebe PDF Print

The Board and staff at NeWest Press would like to congratulate Alberta author Rudy Wiebe for receiving the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Distinguished Artist Award. In addition, he will be awarded an honorary degree at the University of  Alberta's spring convocation celebrations. A long-time NeWest supporter, and former board member and editor for the Press, Wiebe has made significant contributions to creative writing in western Canada. We wish him many more happy literary adventures.
