Andy Weaver Andy Weaver was born in Saint John, New Brunswick, and grew up there, as well as in Ottawa, Ontario, and in small towns outside of Edmonton, Alberta. During his MA, he served on the poetry editorial board of The Fiddlehead, and was co-founder and poetry editor of Qwerty magazine. Weaver’s poetry has been published in numerous magazines and anthologies. His first NeWest Press title, Were the Bees, was published in 2005 and was a finalist for the 2006 Stephan G. Stephansson Award for Poetry. Since then, Weaver has completed his PhD at the University of Alberta and co-founded The Olive Reading and Zine Series. He lives in Toronto, where he teaches at York University.
His latest book of experimental poetry, Gangson, was released by NeWest Press in April 2011.
