Kay Stewart was born in Texas, and Chris Bullock in Cheshire, England. They met while teaching at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Kay has published short stories in NeWest Review and Other Voices and personal essays in Eating Apples and Wrestling with the Angel, collections co-edited with Caterina Edwards. Chris has published academic articles and poetry. Before trying their hand at fiction, they collaborated on six editions of a popular writing textbook, Essay Writing for Canadian Students. After taking early retirement, Kay and Chris moved to Vancouver Island in 2000 and now live in Victoria, BC. Kay has served as president of Crime Writers of Canada and co-chair of the mystery conference Bloody Words 2011. Chris is active in environmental groups. A Deadly Little List (NeWest 2006) is their first mystery title. The second in the Danutia Dranchuk mystery series is Sitting Lady Sutra, authored by Kay and published by TouchWood Editions in March 2011.
