Robert Pepper-Smith Robert Pepper-Smith brings his varied life experiences to this book: currently he tends a vineyard on Gabriola Island, British Columbia and teaches at Vancouver Island University; in the past he has restored 19th century apartments in Paris, and he witnessed the oregano harvest on the island of Simi, Greece in the late 1970s. The Wheel Keeper (NeWest 2002) was his first full-length work of fiction. In September 2011, NeWest released Robert's second novella, House of Spells.
