Byrna Barclay

 Byrna Barclay is the author three novels and three short story collections. Her fiction and poetry have appeared in numerous literary magazines and anthologies. Her many awards include: The Saskatchewan Culture and Youth First Novel Award, SBA Best Fiction Award, YMCA Woman of the Year, CMHA National Distinguished Service Award, SWG Volunteer Award, Sask. Culture Award, the Saskatchewan Order of Merit, and the City of Regina Award for her poetic drama, Room with Five Walls.

A strong advocate for mental health reform, Barclay served as the President of the Canadian Mental Health Association in Saskatchewan, was the founding chair of the Mental Health Advisory Council, and is the Editor-in-chief of Transition Magazine. She has also served as president of the Saskatchewan Writer's Guild and the Saskatchewan Book Awards. Her novel, Waiting For God to Remember Their Names, is to be published in September 2010.

The mother of two grown children, Byrna Barclay and her husband have made their home in Regina, Saskatchewan since 1962.
